A regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Hot Springs, South Dakota, was convened on June 6, 2011 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. at the Mueller Center with Council President Barry Field presiding.

Members Present: Carl Atchley, David Burris, Charles Catlett, Raymond Ecoffey, Barry Field, Bobbie Hamaker, Georgia Pomrenke and Carolann Schwarzenbach.

Members Absent: Don De Vries

Staff Present: Finance Officer Cheryl Wait, Assistant Finance Officer Debbie Romey and Building Inspector Scott Simianer.

Most people do not realize that the cruise control feature which is so prominent in modern cars and those which were manufactured since the late 90s is possible at least in part because of the vacuum actuator. This is essentially a mechanical device which has been designed to covert electric signals into an actual physical action such as cruise control in the case of automobiles so you will be able to give your foot a rest and stay at a constant pre-determined speed while driving on the road.
