Lansing Community College murals offer inspiration, lessons for students to absorb
Mackinaw BuildingLansing Community College President Brent Knight on Monday night asked the college's Board of Trustees to rename the Student Personnel Services Building the Mackinaw Building. He said it will allow the college to expand its ambient learning efforts with murals and explanations of the straits of Mackinac, Mackinac Island, the area's French heritage.

Among the latest additions to the Student Personnel Services Building at Lansing Community College is a bit of life advice from the hip-hop artist Sean Combs, printed on the wall of a study lounge next to a larger-than-life-size image of Combs himself.

He thinks it's a nice hip hop soufflé. Oh, Lil' C and your colorful sayings. Robin needs bangs says they have character and it was as light as a feather and sexy. Please go cut some bangs during the commercial break, Robin. Or grab a hair curler.
As a sideline, he makes music and has released two EPs, one hip-hop, one as a singer. In the future Idris sees himself acting less and producing and directing more – he's hoping to make his directorial debut soon with a BBC film.

She then embarked on a two-and-a-half-year relationship with hip-hop mogul Sean Combs – which was characterised by copious amounts of bling and Cristal champagne, and ended after Combs was arrested in connection with a nightclub shooting in 1999
So You Think You Can Dance – Season 8 – Week 3
So last week’s result show was traumatic for me with the lost of Iveta. I am surprised they got rid of the only Ballroom dancer who showed some much growth and potential in other styles. Missy is not one of my top favorite dancers, but I truly believed that Ryan did not deserve to stay in comparison to her. Ryan is an excellent technical dancer, but that perma-grin smile makes me cringe when I watch her. She seems more “beauty pageant” than performer because of it. And, don’t get me started on her “dance for your life” … the flailing of her arms, legs and hair … oh gawd.
What I don’t understand is how they could keep Ricky based on his excellent “dance for your life” performance, yet Ryan’s was horrible and they kept her regardless. *sigh*
On to tonight’s show … here is how they did (in my own non-professional opinion) …
Sasha (Contemporary) & Alexander (Contemporary) – Contemporary routine by choreographer Dee Caspray: That was really well done by both of them! She was in character the entire time … sultry and saucy. He really surprised me! He is growing in his dancing. This pair reminds me of Legacy and Kathryn from Season 6. You can tell that they have a great connection and work well together.
Melanie (Contemporary) & Marko (Jazz) – Lyrical Hip Hop routine by choreographer Napoleon and Tabitha D’Umo: Yes, it was bizarre, but I loved the intricate movements and little details. For the second week in a row I thought he did amazing considering his background, but I wanted his movements to be more exaggerated. She was really solid throughout the performance. They support each other very well, but I am expecting them to be in the bottom 3 tomorrow.
Clarice (Jazz) & Jess (Broadway) - Fox Trot routine by choreographer Jean-Marc Genereux: The dancing was good and one of the better performances of this style we have seen on this show. But … yes, there is a but … this pair is so miss matched to me. The lift was much better this week. He didn’t stumble, so I guess that is some growth.
Ryan (Contemporary) & Ricky (Contemporary) - Contemporary routine by choreographer Sonya Tayeh: I am so happy that they had a more serious storyline tonight. She was more in character and wasn’t grinning the entire time. Both showed that their technical skills is why they are still in this competition. What didn’t work for me was connecting with their emotions. Might be because they haven’t experienced what they were trying to portray, but that was the one element that was missing for me.
